A- Ground Surface Gas Tanks:

Enclosures specially designed for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) storage. However, such tanks are used for various purposes in factories, restaurants, and houses and alike which require gas provision in an easy and rapid manner.

Ground Surface Top Tank Manufacturing Phases

The tank is manufactured in accordance with international standard and specification

Where production commences by cutting and bending steel sheets to cylindrical structures, welded automatically linearly, terminals are beveled. Then, valves bases are welded in pre-cut openings, terminal are installed and welded automatically cylindrically with the tank structure.

After welding the accessories, radiographic test is preformed for all welding location. At this point, the tanks are ready except the valves. However, after having completed the hydraulic test, the tank surface shall be cleaned (blasted) then metal coating and painting commences. After having dried, the tank moves to final stage to house the valves and gauges and its related leakage test.


Tanks were designed, produced, tested and inspected in accordance with the related Saudi standard specification. Moreover manufacturing process fully comply with pressure vessels prepared by German code A.D. MERK BLATTER. 

Ground Surface Top Tank Components

1) Tanks structure (body):

Cylindrical shape, encompass two heads parts that represents the terminals of the tank and intermediate part designed to withstands 26 Kg /cm2 (bar) hydrostatic test pressure .

2) Safety valve:

Valve mounted in the overhead section of the tank that to release

extra pressure than 17 bar internal pressure balance.

The valve shall be normally closed and automatically opens when any pressure increase is detected inside the tanks than the specified thresholds and normally close when the pressures drops than the tolerated thresholds.

3) Filling valve (gas inlet):

Non-return valve, allow gas inlet to the tank and prevents gas outlet

and used for tank filling purposes.

The service valve is used to get the gas from the tank in its gaseous statute and is fitted with dedicated valve for consumption.

6) Pressure regulator:

The pressure regulator is used to control the outlet gas from the tank and maintain it at usage suitable pressure suitable.

7) Tank liquid level gauge:

The tank liquid gauge is used to indicate the remaining quantity percentage in the tank and it is graded from 0 to 95%. The reading represents the liquid gas level in the tank.

8) Pressure gauge:

The pressure gauge is used to indicate the pressure inside the tanks.

9) Tank dome (cover):

The tank cap is metal cover that protects the mounted accessories on the tank such as outlet and inlet, level gauge against any weather conditions.

10) Name plate:

The indicator label is a metal panel that hoses the tank structure

and indicates special information such as: capacity, manufacture, manufacturing date and other technical data.
